Volunteer opportunities at Chapel in the Pines
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve           others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”                  1 Peter 4:10

Service to others is an important pillar of our spiritual journey and our church is always in need of more helping hands in the area of;

  • serve on our Council
  • worship/reading of the Scripture
  • office/administrative/tech support
  • help with Communion
  • be a Sunday greeter
  • music (vocal or playing an instrument)
  • lead a Forum discussion
  • help serve, set up and/or clean up after potlucks
  • hospitality - help with the after-service small luncheon to greet visitors and get to know new people at Chapel
  • work at our Chapel thrift store and/or accept donations
  • building/property care or maintenance; shoveling snow, sweep our sidewalks, weed around flower beds, mowing, small repairs, cleaning the cabin and/or the laundry of bed/linens for the manse (visiting pastor's cabin) and much more!

Volunteers can choose activities that occur on a regular basis or opportunities that require a one-time only commitment. The quality of our church family is dependent on the involvement of our congregation.  So please contact us if you are interested in being of service.

Chapel thrift store
The Chapel in the Pines Thrift Store

Located at
960 Ramona Avenue in Red Feather Lakes, the Chapel Thrift Store
opens each year on Memorial weekend through Labor Day weekend on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 1-4 pm During these hours, volunteers are also working in our Chapel basement accepting donations such as household and kitchen items, clean or gently used clothing (smoke free), towels, linens, artwork, jewelry, camping items, games, puzzles, books and toys.  Please do not drop off or leave items outside of our donation hours.
Because of the size of our store, we are not able to take office supplies, electronics, furniture, vacuum cleaners, and other large items.
More importantly, 100% of the proceeds (income minus direct expenses)  provide support for those in need within our community and beyond.  For more information, please contact us here.  Come and see us!
