Our Visiting Ministers a
Our constitution establishes a visiting minister program, a defining feature and mission of our church.
At Chapel in the Pines, we invite clergy from all recognized Christian denominations to lead our Sunday worship. We strive for a balanced representation and look forward to scripture-based joyful messages of God’s everlasting faithfulness, love and grace.
At 9:30 a.m, there is an Adult Education (Forum) discussion in our Fellowship Hall that is led by the visiting minister.
Worship service begins at 11:00 a.m.
Each Sunday, communion is observed at the Chapel and all are welcome who wish to share by faith.
Communion follows after the sermon with a communion hymn and before the benediction. Each minister is assisted in the distribution of the Elements by our Communion Assistants at the front of the church. The order of worship is maintained by the Chapel. The visiting minister may choose to wear a robe and vestments if that is their custom.
Chapel provides an honorarium to thank the visiting minister for leading the forum discussion and worship service along with the optional use of our on-site 2-bedroom cabin for up to five days (Thurs. Noon - Tues. Noon).

Housing for Visiting Pastors
Chapel in the Pines provides an on-site cabin for visiting ministers and their immediate family when scheduled to lead our service and the adult Christian forum discussion for that Sunday's worship service.
Our cabin is available at no charge for our visiting ministers (Additional guests may be invited only on a limited basis as water and septic system capacities are limited). Check in as early as Thursday (noon) and check out by Tuesday (noon).
At the end of your stay the cabin is expected to be returned to its original order (clean and all food and garbage removed). Cleaning supplies and vacuum are provided. Please help us keep it clean for our next guest(s).
Departure instructions are posted in the cabin. If you find anything that needs to be corrected, please let us know as we want to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Our Chapel cottage has two (2) bedrooms with queen beds, a full bath (shower) with hot and cold running water, a very comfortable furnished living room with a TV , VCR and internet. The eat-in kitchen is equipped with an electric range, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, dishes, cooking utensils, silverware, paper towels and dish soap. Linens and towels are provided. There is a barbeque grill on deck (propane provided).
Area Temperatures:
The summer temperature range is in the 70’s and occasionally in the 80’s. Evenings are cool and the temperature usually drops to the 50’s and 60’s. In the winter, it can be cold, windy with some heavy snows. We try to make your stay as comfortable as possible and hope you find the experience rewarding as you stay in our Chapel cottage.
